Prepare allows you to batch copy, batch transcode to a wide variety of pro formats, precisely perform first-pass color correction, and more. That’s a background process so in the meantime you can start looking at the files, add metadata, and then you can import only what you want to edit. You can do a full volume, verified backup to an external disk, complete with all the folder structure, side card files, etc. Using Catalyst Prepare you can log clips, add metadata, import them into bins, apply quick color correction for proxies or dailies, and even begin rough editing. ![]() That’s why Sony Prepare is designed to work multiple color spaces and apply LUTs (Look Up Tables) to S-Log footage. ![]() Sony Pro cameras offer high dynamic range and color options. Catalyst Prepare also includes stretch modes for viewing anamorphic footage. The interface has four sections: Import, Organize, Edit, and Export. It is also touch enabled and supports gesture control. Prepare has a clean and simple interface that is intuitive.
